Google has previously stated that it will not be issuing any SEO certification, despite the fact that they do so for Google Ads, Google Analytics, and a boatload of other certifications. That appears to have changed with Google’s announcement of new Google Career Certificate scholarships for American enterprises.
Don’t get me wrong, Google’s announcement is good; Google is granting up to 500 scholarships to Google Career Certificates to train employees in the United States. Google noted that “businesses can use Google Career Certificates to train their staff for employment in data analytics, digital marketing & e-commerce, IT support, project management, or user experience (UX) design.”
“All course instructors are Google employees who are subject-matter experts,” Google noted of the instructors. If you look deeper into the digital marketing course, you’ll notice that “Search Engine Optimization Specialist” is listed:
